Michael

The biggest part of my life, water sports.

Even as a young boy, even my parents would say that I was magnetically drawn to the water.

I started windsurfing at an early age and developed a passion for the elements of wind and water and gliding over the surface of the water. When I took a kitesurfing course here in Silvaplana in 2018, I was immediately fascinated. Especially the versatility that kitesurfing brings with it. Be it flying over the water or high up with a twintip, surfboard or foil. I was in the water for every spare minute and every holiday was geared towards the wind. I sucked up any content about kites, boards and spots like a sponge. I wanted to know everything about different kites and their characteristics.

In the spring of 2023, I decided to quit my job as a police officer and train as a kite instructor. Since then, I have been travelling as a kite instructor and have taught in the most beautiful places in the world such as the North Sea, Montenegro, Sicily, Brazil, Mexico and now here, in the beautiful Engadine.

In addition to kitesurfing, I also teach wingfoiling. For me, the fascinating thing about wingfoiling is the feeling of freedom as you glide around and the playful lightness, with just the wing in your hands and the foil gliding through the water.

My primary goal as a kite and wingfoil instructor is of course to get you on the board. But also to introduce you to this incredible feeling and the passion of water sports and then to introduce you to your new kitesurfing and wingfoil family. Because in the end, it's not the level or your skills that count, but a good community with whom you can share your passion.
